Google Chrome’s Empty Cache and Hard Reload
By Justin Chmura on
I just wanted to share something that I only discovered about Google Chrome just yesterday. When developing the City of Scottsdale Maps on Chrome, we would always have issues testing in Chrome because of scripts and AJAX requests becoming cached. To get around that, I would do the _press F5 a lot_method to force Chrome to maybe retrieve those assets again.
Although, Chrome does have a simple way to clear the cache and refresh the page. Just hold down the refresh button in Chrome and a menu drops down. It has, Normal Reload, Hard Reload, and Empty Cache and Hard Reload. That third one is the gem.
I’m sure everyone already knew about it, but I felt compared to share it anyways. Especially since I didn’t know about it.
